Old wordpress.com user, now I want wordpress.org for full function
-
Hi! Hoping someone here can help…
I set up my blog on wordpress.com before I knew about wordpress.org. So, I signed up through godaddy.com for hosting and then did the 1 click install for wordpress. Then I, not knowing if this was the right thing to do, deleted the domain mapping for my .com account thinking that would kick in the .org wordpress. But it didn’t. Now when I loginto wordpress, it directs me to my old account on .com. I am totally new to this — can ya’ tell?
Any ideas on how to get it over to .org and hosted? Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you bought your domain name through wordpress.COM, then you need to change your nameservers to point at godaddy. In the welcome email they should have given you the nameservers addresses you need to use.

If your domain name was purchased elsewhere, then you need to go to that registrar and point the domain name at godaddy.

Thanks – I just undid the nameservers and repointed them… sound like it may be something to check on in a few hours as they update. I bought it through godaddy, so I actually undid them there and repointed to the hosting and wordpress that they helped with….. thanks!
