Older pictured disappeared!
-
Since 2007 this blog has kept and done research on antique porcelain.
I know that since September 2010 there had been a transition from Windows to WordPressIt is only recently that I noticed that some pictures that accompanied my posts in 2008 had vanished. I am very disappointed and more so sad.
– could it have anything to do with the transition?
– Why did this happen and would this also happen with later years. 2009 till now? Is there a way to stop this
-Is it possible to retrieve the lost pictures? The blog that requests help is langelijs.wordpress.com.

Have you deleted images from your Medial Library? Doing that means they aren’t on the servers, and cannot be displayed in posts or pages you embedded them into.
Please post the URLs of the posts or pages the disappearing images are embedded into.

I typed modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help on the other thread in the Dutch support forum. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. I will keep en eye out. Thank you.

Staff here on the English support forum will locate a Dutch speaker and help the other blogger on the Dutch forum. All that is required is patience. The blogger there must post the URLs as I stated above so Staff will know what to look for and where to look.

Hi there,
I can understand Dutch, but not write it, and took a look at the Dutch thread and that user’s site. I looked at the source code of those posts they linked, and it looks like those images that are missing were indeed embedded from somewhere else, specifically, http://byfiles.storage.live.com/, so the problem is most likely there.
It could be that the user’s account with live.com has expired, or else Microsoft, who owns live.com, might have changed something in how their URLs work when embedding images. Either way, it’s not something we can fix here as the images are not hosted with us.
I’m just waiting for a Dutch translation from a colleague, then I’ll post my answer on the user’s own thread as well.
