older posts sends me to homepage!

I have a site/blog and on the blog page, I only want 3 posts to appear. I have 4 posts right now (3/4 are test posts) and when I scroll to the bottom to where it says “older posts” I click on it and it sends me to my homepage. Why does it do this? I want it to open a second page to my blog so I can see the rest of my posts.
Ultimately, I want it to show 3 summaries of my posts on each blog page, and when you click on it, I want it to open a page that just shows that specific post because I plan to post pretty long posts.
