'Older Posts' will not load

I have only been here a couple of days and this is already my second problem! The ‘older posts’ box on my blog will not load, it’s dead. There are posts to load but it just doesn’t do it. I have logged out and tried, and it just does not work.

Hi there,
The Older Posts button on your site is working fine for me, and I can scroll all the way to your first post, A Street Photo
Please clear your browser cache, make sure your browser has JavaScript enabled, and also disable any ad-blocker or anti-tracking plugins you have active in the browser to see if that helps.

Still doesn’t work for me. As long as it’s working for others though that’s all that matters really. I will try using a different browser as I’m using Chrome and it seems to have problems. Thanks very much.

It’s working for me in Chrome, and it should work in any browser – if it doesn’t that would indicate a bug that we need to fix.
Have you checked whether your browser is blocking JavaScript?
Does it make any difference if you view your site in incognito mode in Chrome?

My browser is not blocking JavaScript, I have white listed WP with ad blocker, and I have tried incognito mode, but it makes no difference, I cannot load older posts.

I just tried with Microsoft Edge browser and it works with that. The problem must be with my Chrome browser, perhaps I need to update.

Hi there,
Performing a clean installation of Chrome might solve your issue. Just make sure to take a backup of your date before (bookmarks, stored passwords, etc.).

I removed Chrome and re-installed it as suggested, but it has made no difference. The ‘older post’ box is still not clickable. I can’t understand what the problem is as I’ve tried everything, although as I mentioned, it does work with a different browser. Yesterday I was also getting a wide black strip across my dashboard (I am using the older dashboard wp-admin).

Can you please check if you see any console errors in Chrome when clicking that button?
If you do, please take a screen shot and upload it directly to your site’s media library. We’ll be able to see it there.
It does appear that this is specific to your computer/browser, though, and not a bug with the theme or the infinite scroll feature.

I’m not sure if I’ve done it right, but I’ve uploaded a screen shot into my library (titled ‘error’). It is showing 3 errors. If it’s the wrong thing I’ll try again.

Alright. I am back with another report of “this is working for me.” The good news, is that I think this is probably
I know that you had previously white listed WordPress.com in your ad block extension but I think it is worthwhile to go ahead and disable all of the browser extensions that you are using in Chrome.
Once they are all disabled, try to load the site and click the “older posts” button. Let em know what happens.
If it works, enable the extensions one at a time, test the button, until you determine which one was causing the issue.

I only have ad blocker in extensions. Also where is my latest post as I mentioned above? I can’t see it on my blog, nor in the Reader.

If you temporarily disable all extensions, does that make any difference?
Also what version of Chrome are you using?

As I have already said I only have ad blocker in extensions and WordPress is white-listed on that. I am using the latest Chrome, and as asked, I removed and then re-installed it. I am still not convinced it’s just my browser as when I try a different theme the ‘older posts’ works when I click it. By the way, my last post is still not in the Reader but I assume that’s a different problem, and that’ll be 3 problems in as many days here!

If you wouldn’t mind briefly disabling it, just to test, that would help. We haven’t been able to duplicate this in the latest Chrome here yet.
Also, what operating system are you using?
