On click modal plugin
-
I am trying to build a plugin for opening a modal window on click of a hyperlink. The static modal is displayed properly. However, when I use a jQuery to open the modal, the css gets completely disturbed and the modal is displayed as an unresponsive popup on the left half of the screen overlaid on the main page. Can somebody suggest a possible solution here?

Hi,
Can you share the URL of your website?
I’m not seeing any WordPress.com sites associated with the user account you are posting from. This frequently means that you have a site using the open-source WordPress software from WordPress.org, but hosted elsewhere.
We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us here at WordPress.com. For help with a WordPress site hosted elsewhere you’ll need to ask over at the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Depending on the level of support that is included with your hosting plan, your webhost’s support team may also be able to assist.
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and the open-source WordPress software you can read this article:

I have bought a domain from another provider. However I prefer building the website in WordPress due to it’s flexibility. I have not yet hosted this on WordPress.com, however I would like to host it it on WordPress in future. As this is the first time I am hosting a website on wordpress.com, I am not sure if I can keep my website unpublished as long as the website is not completely built. What would you recommend?

Hi there,
On WordPress.com you can keep your site unpublished for as long as you develop it. You can even use a temporary address if you don’t want to use the domain you already have. You can read more here:

Thanks very much for your quick reply. What kind of development support can I why get from WordPress if I’m not very well versed with WordPress development and what kind of a subscription will be the best for me for this kind of development support?

Hi there,
We do not provide developer-level support here on WordPress.com, so for a project like a custom plugin you will need to hire a developer to assist you.
More info on hiring a developer for your special project here: https://wordpress.com/support/upwork/
Also to use plugins on WordPress.com will require our Business Plan or higher. The option to upload plugins is not included on lower plans (or free sites)

Hope this helps!
