on My Stats clicks to a URL I don’t know. Can I block it?
-
Hello,
I am still a bit of a newbie on wordpress and would appreciate some help with this.
On my stats page under “Clicks”, I see two URL’s that I do not recognize. Supposedly people clicked to them from my blog. I followed the links and do not want them associated with my blog. How do I find these links on my blog if I did not put them there? Can I block the links? Seems strange. Would this be from someone who linked to my blog without my knowing?
Can someone explain about “Clicks” and let me know how to block it so readers don’t click through to these sites from my blog?
Thanks, folks. Trying to learn this all as fast as I can!

Without seeing the URL’s they clicked on, I can’t really tell where they were. There are two possibilities though:
1. There is always a link to the theme designer’s website at the bottom of the blog.
2. They came to your blog from a search engine and when that happens, occasionally wordpress will insert adsense ads into your blog single-post pages, so it could have been that someone clicked on an ad. Personally I’ve only seen ads on wordpress blogs twice in the nearly two years I’ve been here. Because this is a free blogging platform, wordpress uses the ads to help pay for all of the expenses of running this site such as servers, bandwidth, etc.

One other thing, do you have the “possibly related posts” feature enabled? If so, some of the links may be coming from that.
