On the verge of abandoning WordPress. Sure could use some help

  I’m having difficulty with creating the web site I want, and I’m having even greater difficulty finding the answers I need. For instance, I changed the url name for my site and it created two sites. I don’t understand why these weird things happen or how to fix them.
