Once again: Adding RSS feed

  Despite reading all the posts, I still can’t get the RSS icon to show up on my blog. All I get is the actual code displayed. I can’t understand the instructions in the FAQ put-your-feed-in-your-sidebar – can someone translate them for me OR point me in a different direction? THANKS
