Once my domain expires, can I access my blog again the way I do now?
-
I have a blog PerformancEngineer.wordpress.com. Lets say I want to register it for a custom domain perfengg.com for 1 year (for now). My question is when my domain subscription expires, what will happen to my blog and its contents? Will I be able to access it again using PerformancEngineer.wordpress.com?? Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, you will. If you don’t renew your domain name then your blog will still be hosted here on WordPress.com using the link
http://performancengineer.wordpress.com/The domain name is not the same as a hosting service. It’s like a street sign pointing to the location of your blog.
Or you could think of domain mapping as a nickname for your site—your friends call you “Tommy” but your real name is “Thomas.”
Something to consider, however, is that if you give up your domain mapping it may be difficult to get it back again. Someone else could purchase “perfengg.com” so you may have to pay them to recover the name.
