one log in for 3 sites

I have 2 sites that I own, and another that I have administrative rights to. The 2 sites that I own, I login with one username and password to manage. The site that I have administrative rights I have to login to wordpress seperately to manage.

Is there a way to use my login for the sites I own to also manage the site I have administrative rights to?

    Hi vadeboncoeur,

The site that I have administrative rights I have to login to wordpress seperately to manage.

What is the address of the site you are currently managing separately? If it uses WordPress.org software on another host, the Jetpack plugin can be used to create a connection between that site and your WordPress.com account (meaning it can be managed through your account here):

    Jetpack

If you aren’t sure, just send a link to the site you are referring to and I’ll be happy to check on that for you.

    The 3 sites are:
    goodheartsolutions.com – wordpress (I own)
    303offroad.com – wordpress (I own)
    Cambatrails.org – I think wordpress(?), I have administrative rights

    Thanks

  • Thanks! The first two are hosted here under this account.

The other is a WordPress.org installation (which is different from WordPress.com) hosted at GoDaddy, but as long as you have administrative rights, you’d be welcome to connect it to the interface here via Jetpack.

I think the problem is that it changed the menu and navigation for all administrators then. ??

  • HI there,

I’m not clear what you mean by your last comment. What changed the menu and navigation?

Installing Jetpack will add a Jetpack item on the menu in WP-Admin, but otherwise it won’t change any navigation. The Jetpack item will be visible to other users on the site, and they’ll be able to use it to connect their own user accounts on the site to their WordPress.com accounts as well.

If that’s not what you’re referring to, can you please provide some more detail?

There are other administrators on the WordPress.org account. If I install the jet pack there, will it change their sidebar navigation on the dashboard?

  • The Jetpack item will be added in to the WP-Admin but it’s not going to change any navigation. You’d need to click on the Jetpack item to go forward with those options. Does that help?
