one of my categories disappeared

I edited one of my categories, and now it no longer appears across the top of my home page. Under ‘culture’ I had a category called ‘books.’ I changed it to ‘books and language’ but it disappeared, although the posts still show that they belong to that category. Please help! Thanks–Scott

Hi Scott,
If you edit an existing category, then a new category page will instantly be created, and the old category page, now with no posts assigned to it, ceases to exist. Consequently, a menu item in a custom menu that links to the nonexistent category page will disappear. The thing to do is to add a menu item that links to the new category page, as described in the Add Menu Items section of the Site Menus support page.

Regarding the old invalid menu item, you may delete it as described and illustrated in the Delete Menu Items section of the Site Menus support page.
