One of my "Explore tags" will not delete
-
One of the tags in the “explore” section of the reader will not delete.
It is the word “magnolia”. When I wrote it months ago, I misspelled it, with a dot in the middle. So now I’m stuck with this useless tag “ma.gnolia”, which is never going to find any blogs for me to read.It will delete initially but then it’s back when I go to the reader again. I’ve tried deleting all the tags in the “explore” list, but the zombie “ma.gnolia” keeps coming back.
I see that another blogger had this problem – the forum has an entry from sethsnap.com. But I don’t see any instructions on how to fix the problem. Is there anything I can do, or can WordPress delete the tag somehow from my account?
The blog that I need help with is distantdrumlin.wordpress.com.

Can you try something for me? Click the “x” to delete the rogue tag. And then once it disappears, enter in a new tag in the “enter a tag” box and click the “+” button. Then let me know if ma.gnolia stays gone.

Thanks for your response. I tried your suggestion. When I added the new tag, there was no ma.gnolia, but we haven’t killed it yet. I switched to another page (stats) and then back to the reader, and the ma.gnolia was back.

Hmmm, I cannot replicate that behavior.
Could you do me a favor and try logging in with a different browser and seeing if you see the same issue? Firefox or Chrome perhaps?

This issue happens with Safari and Firefox. I will have access to a PC with Internet Explorer later today, so I will try that too.

So it turns out that there is a bug here that we’re dealing with. It will be fixed, but given that we are crashing right up against the holidays, I can’t promise a timeline.

The rogue tag has gone. I deleted it in Firefox, then switched to the Stats page and back several times, and “ma.gnolia” has not re-appeared.
Thank you for your help. -
