One of my favorite blogs went private; how do I ask the author to be let in?

I used to, on occasion, read http://nightmarebrunette.wordpress.com/. Unfortunately, the author has made the blog private. Since I read the blog without a wordpress account, I had no subscription.
Is there any way of contacting the author to say yes, I would like to continue reading your blog, via wordpress? I searched through the help, but there seems to be no help for blog readers: it’s (understandably) for blog writers. I can’t believe this issue has never occurred before, but I’m unable to find help in the forums.

You will not longer be able to view the blog because that’s the blogger’s choice. There is absolutely no way Staff will provide you with private contact information as doing that would be a privacy violation.

I wasn’t asking for their contact information; rather, a button labelled ‘request to subscribe to this blog’ or somesuch that I had missed. Getting a word to someone is different than getting their contact information: I have no desire to intrude into anyone’s privacy.

That’s good because you have reached a dead end. There is no way to subscribe unless the blogger chooses to send out invitations to people she selects and you happen to be among them. As you were not previously subscribed the chance of that happening is zero.
