One of my first posts appears to have been hijacked
-
Hi guys,
I’m relatively new here and in my first week of attempting to blog. I just noticed in my blog stats that there was a link coming in called club-penguins, or something like that.
I clicked on the link, and low and behold it’s a total copy/paste of one of my posts from earlier in the week. Hopefully you can check out my blog via my profile (I’ve tried dilligently to follow Time Thief’s advice articles).
My apologies in advance if this is a repetitive theme that you have already resolved numerous times or commented on. I’m admittedly very pressed for time tonight. Further, it appears the blog that copy/pasted my posting is not a wordpress blog at all, so I doubt anything can be done.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Here’s the link to the piracy of my post: http://meridiaonmarket.blogspot.com/2007/11/busy-club-penguin-rpf.html
Thanks,

actually, upon further review, the hijacked text about horse racing at hollywood park, while all mine, comes from multiple parts of a post, and seems to go across multiple edits as well (i.e., what is posted in the blog currently was edited as scratches and adjustments happened to the betting entries)…..it’s almost like it captured it at a point in time.
Even weirder, it links back to my blog???
Even more strange, it has random parts of posts clearly from other non-related blogs in the same posting?
I think Bill or Ted said it best: “dude….strange things are afoot at the Circle K!”

Since they have links back to your original site, it could fall under fair use, but my suggestion would be to comment on it and tell them you want them to remove your copyrighted material from their website because they are using it without your permission.

Thanks – will do. I did a search of the forums for “club penguin” and am left with a rather noobish follow-up question:
WTF is club penguin??? Is this some group of bloggers, a “game” (as I’ve seen referenced) or something else?
Reading the post on that blog is entirely insensible. It seems like a program or something had to do it because they skipped sentences of mine.

It’s a game played by the very young so it’s not surprising they don’t make sense.
They may have pulled your stuff off of your RSS feed. I would suggest you set your feed to “summary” and also to set it to show only one post. Go to dashboard > options > discussion and then when everything is set, click the “update options” button.

Thanks again, thesacredpath. I’ve done as you suggested. Hopefully this will prevent any further privacy.
