One of my followers — not a wordpress user — wants email notifications.

  Hello — so happy with my wordpress blog. One follower has requested that she be notified when I post something on my blog. How would I advise her to do this? Thank you! By the way, this follower is not a wordpress user — just wants to follow my blog.

  That’s what following a blog means… if someone follows it, they will get an e-mail whenever you post.

  The “Follow Blog” widget tells non-wordpress users to “enter your e-mail to follow this blog” or whatever text you want, and wordpress takes care of the rest.

  Check tuckershole.wordpress.com to see how it works…. look at the page when you are logged in as a wordpress user, and then again when you are not to see the difference.

  You will also be notified whenever someone follows you!

  Here’s something:

  1) Go to your dashboard
  2) Click on ‘Appearances’
  3) Click on ‘Widgets’ option
  4) Click on & hold ‘Follow Blog’ option and move it to the right side under ‘Primary Widget Area.’
  5) Add a title of your choice (such as ‘Follow My Blog’)
  6) Click on Save.
