One of my posts cannot be edited at all.
-
I cannot anymore edit one of my blogs. The blog still exists, as I am able to display it – see https://avsion.wordpress.com/2015/02/01/a-fortiori-logic/. However, when I click on Edit, I get a blank page. I am able to access the Revision page at https://avsion.wordpress.com/wp-admin/revision.php?revision=130, but when try to get any version restored, I get the message “Sorry, something went wrong. The requested comparison could not be loaded.” I put in a lot of work into this post, and I would very much like to restore some version of it, even if I have to do some of the updates again.
By the way, I tried copying the whole post into a new post https://avsion.wordpress.com/2015/02/15/new-afl/ however, though the post looks good, in fact its internal links link up to the original post (which is not editable)!
PLEASE help me resolve this – by restoring the latest possible version of my original post and unblocking the Edit facility. Thank you in advance.
P.S. I have of course looked into the forum and found no comparable case to enlighten me. By the way, too, I have cleared the cache of my browsers (tried both Firefox and Chrome) and that did not help. Also note, there is no similar problem with my other posts. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
You’re seeing this error because of how large the post is. It took me over 30 seconds to load your post. Because of this length, the editor is going to really struggle with all of that content.
Your best option here is to create several much shorter pages for your content. For example, each point in your table of contents could probably be its own page. And then set up a table of contents like you have on a page so people can get around. You could also use a Custom Menu widget to add the table of contents to every page of the paper.
As it stands right now, I’m unable to open your post in the editor.

Hi shawnajroberts. Thanks for your response. While I am aware that the length of the post is considerable and slows loading, the fact is it was working all right until a couple of days ago, when it suddenly failed for some obscure technical reason. So the length is not the issue – the issue was some sort of technical hitch. I guess this means I will have to delete the post and start all over again. Pity, I put many hours of work into it, and was careful to save my work often. Yet these saved versions have all disappeared. I suppose this means you cannot recover them. Thanks anyway for your kind attention, i.e. for replying. I will mark the topic as closed.

What likely happened was that your cache of the editor was cleared, which is totally normal. But means that in order to open the editor, your browser must download all of the files again, which is now not working because of the length of the post.
This is pretty normal when you posts get too long for the editor or browser to handle.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for the explanation. I will however retry the full-length post at the risk of wasting more of my time!
