One of our site users hasn't received an activation email

Hi
I’m trying to sign up a new user on our forum. He’s signed up to WordPress but hasn’t been able to verify his membership because he hasn’t received the activation email. I’ve been able to send him an invitation (so he is registered with WordPress) but he can’t join because he’s not activated his membership.
Can you help?
