One post on my site not showing up in search engines?

    Hi
I don’t even know if this is the place to ask, but I’ve had a few small issues with the Apostrophe theme and was wondering if this somehow could be another one.

I have posted a new recipe for Monster Cookies and it’s not showing up on search engines. It is only 1 post missing on my website. A post I published after the Monster Cookie post is showing up properly in Google and Bing, but not this one.
    http://petersfoodadventures.com/2015/08/30/best-monster-cookies-recipe/
In google I search “petersfoodadventures” and “monster” and the only hit is a post for “Mannaya Kasha” which references “Previous Monster Cookies” which allows the reader to go to my previous post from the Mannaya Kasha page. Otherwise references to this post (Monster Cookies) don’t exist. The Googlebot has been to my site after I posted Monster Cookies, because the post I did yesterday for Mannaya Kasha is showing up in google without problems.
In Bing – it only finds a link to a Tag for ” Monster Cookie Recipe”, then you need to click to go to the recipe from the tag. Bing finds my other cookies recipes and posts properly, just not Monster Cookies. I would search “petersfoodadventures” and “monster” also.

Not sure if this makes sense or not, but happy if anyone has an idea, or if an engineer can make sure there’s no issue with the Apostrophe theme or wordpress regarding this? It doesn’t make sense that googlebot and bing would only update part of my website?

    Many thanks
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

There can be quirks in how search engines work and how they index your site that can’t be controlled by WordPress.com. In this case, I searched Google for “petersfoodadventures” and “monster” and that post came right up in the search results.

If you’re concerned about how your site is listed in search engines, I’d recommend setting up Webmaster Tools so you can get more information directly from those search engines about how they are indexing your site.

Thanks for checking. It’s funny how when you google petersfoodadventures and monster, you get the link, and when I google the same, the link is not there. The link that google shows me is How to Make Mannya Kasha, which references “Previous How To Make Monster Cookies”. Not the cookie link, and not in any of the 49 search results found in the google search.
Thanks for the advice on the Webmaster tools, I set that up right away when I set up my site. Setting this up doesn’t really provide the answers I need, as it just verifies me, but I have re-verified with google again, although it caught my Mannaya Kasha post right away.
I still am not convinced that its not a sitemap indexing thing from wordpress, which I don’t think i can see or check if correct.
Your google results and my google results are very different, I’ve checked on multiple computers, and cleared cache just in case.
I guess what I’m saying is that I think there is something wrong with wordpress, or different from every other time I have posted posts. Everything I wrote above is still true, the link referenced above is not showing in google. Is there a way you can see if indexing sitemap is correct on my site?

    Hi Peter,

I don’t see any issues with your site on this end. You can see your site’s sitemap, including that monster cookie post, here: http://petersfoodadventures.com/sitemap.xml

Google does sometimes show different results to different people or in different locations, which could explain why the results you’re seeing are different. If you’re concerned that Google isn’t indexing everything correctly, you can use their Search Console to request that they re-crawl/re-index your site:
