One Profile, Two blogs
-
I own http://www.eagleswingministries.org and run eagleswingministries.wordpress.com as my blog.
I’m a bit confused now as my host, Hetzner, has a ‘WordPress’ portion on the site subscription. Trying to merge the existing blog into my website has been problematic at best. How can I move the existing blog to eagleswingministries.org without losing images etc? So far, most of my ‘Featured Image’ files have been removed. It’s frustrating as for some reason I now can’t access the .org files to add my new entries. I want to shift to using the dedicated site, but carry everything over as the cost of the wordpress is supposed to be included in my monthly hosting fee and the dedicated site will allow me to include video/audio files, which my current free domain does not.
Help?
Also, slightly unhappy I have to post this to a forum instead of being able to simply pick up the phone and ask an actual human.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello
I am sorry you are having such a tough time with this. Not only does WordPress not offer phone support, but you are asking in the wrong place. The forums here are for people whose pages are hosted here at WordPress.Com. Your content is hosted someplace else. We call that self-hosted, or sometimes a WordPress.ORG installation. The support, experience, and expertise for your situation may be found at https://wordpress.org/support/
Wait. its all WordPress, right? It is easy to be confused by this. The WordPress software is written and maintained by the WordPress.org community, and is the blogging software that is used by over 25% of the web! Because of their commitment to Open Source code, ease of use, and popularity, WordPress software is installed by many hosting providers for use by their subscribers.
Automattic owns the hosting service known to us as WordPress.com.
BUT the software that you are using on your self hosted blog has no real connection with WordPress.com, beyond the name. They don’t talk to each other (even though they are on good terms).
https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_vs_WordPress.com explains many of the differences. Not the help you were hoping for but you now know where you can get the help you need.

Thanks Dave
Very frustrating. One – eagleswingministries.wordpress.com is hosted on wordpress.com while my own site through Hetzner, eagleswingministries.org is the other type.
I’ll check out the “help” on the ther side as well!

Hi David
That’s quite a tangle with sites at different hosts, it managed to confuse me for sure! I can see that my previous answer was not much help, and i apologize for that.
Let’s see if we can sort it all out.
To move everything from
agleswingministries.wordpress.com
to
http://www.eagleswingministries.orgYou should follow the instructions in the following document:
https://move.wordpress.com/The export and import processes are easy to do.
If you are having trouble accessing the files at eagleswingministries.org you will have to get help from the company hosting that part of the equation
If i can help further, please let me know!
best,
dave
