One time payment

  • Unknown's avatar

This may sound like a stupid question, but is there a way to pay for 1 month of the premium plan? I’m only using WordPress to archive my Tumblr and I don’t intend to post on here any more after that. I just feel like I’d be wasting my money for a year if I do.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, no question is stupid! Happy to help :)

WordPress.com does not offer any month-to-month billing plans, only annual payment options. Please see this post for more details.

The annual pricing is broken down as a monthly price on the pricing page for informational purposes, but all payments are made on an annual basis.

    I hope this helps!

PS – Assuming your Tumblr blog content is over 3GB, you would need a Premium plan for it to remain on WordPress.com even as an archive. The space your content occupies would require an ongoing plan, regardless of posting activity.

So, if I pay for a year and then cancel the subscription, would the posts still be there?

  • Hi there,

Cancelling an upgrade has no effect on content added to your site, and media files you’ve imported over the 3GB limit will not be removed should you cancel your plan. But if you are then over the 3GB limit you will not be able to upload any new media files.

Hi kokkieh, thanks for the clarification. I didn’t realize media over 3GB could still be stored on WordPress.com if the storage upgrade was canceled, as long as there were no additional posts. You learn something new every day! :)

  • as long as there were no additional posts.

I never mentioned posts. You will still be able to create new posts as well. You just won’t be able to upload any media files to the library. Posts and pages have no effect whatsoever on storage space, and there is no limit on the number of posts and pages you can create on a site, nor on the length of the posts and pages themselves.

The only limit is on uploading image, video, audio and document files to the media library.
