one user, two blogs, can’t get to blog2

Hello!
I have one blog, then I made another one as WP.com allows you to do. Just after making the new blog I was able to start on it.
A couple of days later I edited blog1 and saw that there was a link to blog2 at the top of the dashboard. I thought that was very convenient so I clicked on the link, and my logoin was asked for. I typed the same user name as in blog1, same password and it saud wrong login.
I installed and played with a number of CMS so i’m a bit mixed up, and I can’t remember if I’m supposed to have a different login for blog2.
I cliked on “forgotten password?” but what I got was a new password for blog1, in fact.
Can you help me? I know I’ve been stupid being very careless about blog2 but I was in a hurry to set it up.

Can you give us the URLs of each separate blog? It sounds like one is on WP.com and the other is independently-hosted.

Although my name here on the forum points to yet another blog where I’m the admin and share the same pseudo, I’m talking about the 2 blogs above which belong to the same user in fact.
Aprat from that I have another WP website which is independently hosted, but have no problem with it — got my lost password for that one allright! :-)

Try your independent WP login info; I have noticed people sometimes get those mixed up, especially when they’re in a rush.
Does blog 2 show on your list of blogs on the Global Dashboard? Given that it shows on your admin bar, it seems to indicate they’re the same. Can you get to it from your Dashboard if you try now?

blog 2 shows on my list of blogs on the Global Dashboard, That’s why I simply clicked on the link and got to the wp-admin page.
Okay, I’ll try what you say but I would have thought you’d be able to access blog2 while on blog1 without having to login.

Hello again, good news!
So I followed all your instructions. I logged out of blog1 and tried to log into blog2 (so wp-login, not admin as I wrongly wrote). I used the same login (user+passwd) as for blog1. The page came back with no message at all.
So I thought it could be a question of cookies. I looked into Firefox Prefs, and lo, blog2 wasn’t in the list of allowed or blocked web sites. So for good measure, I deleted the whole list, all the cookies, the cache, and started on a fresh basis.
I went to blog2/wp-login and got access all right. there I saw the link to blog1 on the dashboard, then went right into blog1 admin, and went back to blog2 admin.
So I think it was a matter of deleting all cooking and the cache. Firefox (I’ using 3 beta5) may have been a bit confused with having to deal with same login but different url.
So problem resolved, it seems :-)
