One WordPress Account, Two Domains, Two Emails. How To Split?

    Hey,

    1.

I have two bought domains on my user account here at wordpress. But for both of my blogs I have seperate email adresses, that I want to use for each domain.

Now I realized that both domains or both blogs are somewhat bound to my user account on wordpress, and it seems that I then can only use one email adress for both of my blogs?

I am seeking for a solution to have independent email adresses for both of my blogs and the contact form and such stuff. Maybe even seperate users for each blog. What are the possibilities?

    2.

Now talking about my wordpress.com usernames. I am not sure yet but I saw this entry in the dashboard where I can change my username and I maybe will change my user name as it bugs me that my forum username here is the name of my first blog. If I change my username, what will happen with all my ratings on my first blog, because I did read that it would affect my polldaddy acc? Will the ratings and other stuff disappear?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

    For question #1, you can:

    1) Create a new username, let’s call it user B
    2) Using your current user A, login to site B, then add user B as admin to site B
    3) Using user B, remove user A from site B
    4) You now have user A as admin of site A, user B as admin of site B

Best info I can find re: username changing affecting PollDaddy is this: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/what-if-i-change-my-username?replies=3

Not too conclusive, unfortunately, so I’m notifying the Staff so they can explain here.

I was a little bit busy the days so that my reply is late. But I thank you…

About new blog users.. it seems that I just can´t create new users in the dashboard. I guess I must do this with the meta widget and register a new user on site B. Also I wonder if the new user would also be a new wordpress account? I must check this out.

    Hi Dennis!

    To answer your questions:

I am seeking for a solution to have independent email adresses for both of my blogs and the contact form and such stuff. Maybe even seperate users for each blog. What are the possibilities?

If you’d like to move techfeeling.com to a separate account, what I’d do is register a new account and add that new user as an administrator on techfeelings.wordpress.com. When that’s done, I would be glad to transfer the domain upgrade for you.

If I change my username, what will happen with all my ratings on my first blog, because I did read that it would affect my polldaddy acc? Will the ratings and other stuff disappear?

Changing your username should pose no problem to your Polldaddy account. If you do change your username and encounter any problems, please let me know.

    Hope that helps! Cheers. :)

Thanks for the help. I must think about this a little bit before I make a decision. But it´s good to know that it is possible. It might be that I will come back with a request to do the separation in the future. Thanks again.
