  It’s quite possible to build something similar to this using Blocks: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/

  For example, you could start with the Blank Canvas theme: https://wordpress.com/theme/blank-canvas

  From there you could recreate the three items at the top using the Grid Block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/layout-grid-block/

  Below that use another grid block to present a featured content item on the left, which you can use a Cover Block for: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/cover-block/

  And on the right side of the Grid Block you could apply a calendar, posts, and much more.
