Online Exam
-
Is there a workaround to add some sort of online Test / Exam into a Post on WordPress.COM? I did look but was not able to find anything.
Thoughts were for some 10 to 20 question tests with the answers. Several ways to do this so I will not constrain the suggestions with a lot of requirements.
As a last resort I could have the Exam Questions at the top of the Post and then a visitor could just page down and see the answers along with the explanation, but I was hoping for something a bit fancier.
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The simplest thing (which might be too simple) is to use Poll Daddy, as you can easily set multiple choice questions and other options, and I believe you can set it not to show the results.

Showing just the questions and answers would be easy – it’d just be a normal post with either a bullet-ed or numbered list for all the questions/answers.

Thanks
I looked at the Poll Daddy and not sure it will work.
The Exam / Quiz is on boating safety, subjects like Rules of the Road. I need to explain in detail what the answers are and the specific rules that come into play. Probably a couple of decent paragraphs for many of the answers so visitors will really understand the rule. Poll Daddy does not seem to have the ability to give large amounts of explanation for each question.
thanks

You could create something pretty useful using page jumps. Create you questions in a list and then the answers following. Link the title of each question to the answer and clicking on it will jump down the page. You can even create a “go to the next question” link after each answer to jump back up to the next question. The support page should show you what you need to do with the HTML code.

I had thought about the page jumps but missed your jump back up – the jump down to the answer and then back up to the next question – second thoughts look like your suggestion would work – the template would be a bit of work but if I save a template as a draft I can reuse the outline – hm..
Thanks for the suggestion

It would take a little bit of work to get it up and running but once it is done once it wouldn’t be much more than a copy/paste and search/replace job. It would even be possible to show an answer only when hovering over the question using inline CSS. If you’re curious let me know and I’ll put together a little example.

That’s a lie. You’d need the custom CSS upgrade to use the :hover pseudo-class to achieve what I just mentioned, sorry for the noise.

There is this thread (and others I can’t find right now) about cursor help

Also, re page jumps, note that they can link to a different page – see here:

Yes, these are the reasons why I wouldn’t recommend the cursor trick either, but since you brought it up I thought I’d better clarify your point about length.
What I would probably do is page jumps, as Luke suggested, but to a separate page dedicated to the answers and split into a series of pages (one for each answer).

@Panos,
Yes, we concur.
Split the into into pages:
