  Hi! I’m looking to create a business website and before I take the plunge and start all the design work….I wanted to know if WordPress has the features I urgently require? On my website I need to have an online store to sell my products. What I desperately require as part of this is (i) a function to manage my inventory/stock, so it displays quantities available to customers, (ii) a database function to import existing customer account/contact details….*also want to be able to create my own custom data fields etc…(e.g. name, Acc Ref, Address, email, etc…), (iii) an invoicing function….*important to be able to create invoices for both online orders and also manual/non online orders (e.g. telephone orders, etc…). The main feature I need though is for all of the above functions to integrate with each other….particularly, a facility that adjusts my store’s inventory/stock quantities after creating invoices for both online and offline orders. This is imperative. Thanks.

  Hi there,

  I’m afraid none of this is possible on WordPress.com. We’re working on adding eCommerce functionality here, but it won’t be possible to do any of this until next year at the earliest.

  However, on a self-hosted WordPress site all of this is possible via the WooCommerce plugin.
