Only 9 tags!?
-
There is no 9 tag limit. There is no hard limit. You can use as many tags as you’d like. Somewhere around 10 is a fair number, but that’s just a suggestion.
The more tags you use, the less relevant it is to each of them, and thus less likely to appear on some of those tag pages.
-
@TSP: You were right for sure when a blog is flagged as mature it won’t show up in the global tag system.

I have used 11 tags. None of this tags are included in global tags, so they are completely useless:

Read the missing posts section here:

Since I can’t read the language, I’m afraid I can’t help, but you might want to ask staff directly; they will be able to give you specific guidance.
-
@hidalgovelazquez: Have you read it? You obviously haven’t because it sure does give an explanation why your posts might not be in the global tag system.

I asked yesterday, they said me:
“To ensure that your posts appear in global tags, you should be using less than 10 categories and tags. Please try this when publishing new posts.”
So, dear raincoaster, the final is always: on wordpress.com you are *obliged* to use no more of 9 tags. Otherwise your tags will be completely useless.
I’m saying this from first post.

4 Reasons why your posts might not appear in the global tag system. -
I’ve been here longer than you, I’ve got several HUNDRED pages of answers I’ve given in these forums, and I know more than you do about the issue. Trust me, you’re wrong. Or don’t trust me. I don’t care either way; your blog’s success does not matter to me.
-
I don’t care your hundred pages of answers here, in this case you can’t give an answer because you don’t know the answer. I have included 11 tags in my post and none of this has been included in global tags, so the only possible reason is: on wordpress.com you are *obliged* to use no more of 9 tags.
-
That is not correct. There is another reason your posts are not included. I suggest you follow lora’s advice and review that FAQ. Again and again if necessary.

So who decide if my tags are appropriate or not? An automatic system, I think. Staff need to regulate it. The system doesn’t work, they’re all appropriate and there is no spam.
-
You can use as many tags as you want.
I have seen posts with 100 words and over 300 tags.
I see posts daily that have tags which are totally unrelated.People like the tags system. It means they get to read what they want and no junk posts.
If you write a post and tag it ‘sex’ but the post is about something else then all you will do is lose readers. You fooled them once, you do not get a second chance.
If you took time to write the post then take equal care to tag it. Not doing so will lose you posts. But the tags system has value and that value will not be eroded by people being able to post dozens of tags just to get traffic. It needed a limit. If we said 50 someone would want 51. If we say 100 they would want 150.
If you are unhappy then by all means go to Blogger. Do they have anything even remotely similar?
-
I don’t care your reasons for global tag. It is an obliged feature, so I must accept it.
By the way, Mark, can u answer me?
