Only private and draft posts appeared from Xanga

Hello
I have tried to upload some Xanga blogs to WordPress from the archives, I managed it with one blog about a year ago but have forgotten the log in to the wordpress for it.
When I have uploaded the files from the blogs, it has only brought across 2 draft posts and a private pulse post. Could anyone advise what to do to retrieve the actual blog posts? I’ll be heartbroken if they are gone forever :(

Progress! I have managed to find the wordpress login that I put one of the sites on. I used exactly the same method to do this site, which has brought across posts, pictures and even comments that people left on my xanga. I’m really confused as to why my other blog will only bring private and draft posts across.

I did indeed, there were three files which I imported from the zip folder, same method used on the site which worked. I have other wordpress’ but the two that I listed are the only ones concerned.Any advice you can give is gratefully received :)

Thanks. I took a look and it seems the the file with the “_2” is the one with the majority of your content. Can you try uploading that one again?
Can I also ask why you’re trying to import the same content to multiple sites?

I need to ask about that:
I had two xangas, I knew I had already uploaded one somewhere (couldn’t remember the URL/login at the time) so I did the blog that I hadn’t done yet. When it didn’t work, I tried the files from the blog I had already done to see if it would work (didn’t know if something could be wrong with the files), but that didn’t work either. I didn’t know how to delete both attempts and try again. Do I need to do anything before I try and import the site again?Thank you :)

Nope! We won’t duplicate posts that are already imported, so if we skipped some parts of the file for some reason, running the import again won’t cause a bunch of duplicate content.
I don’t see anything on our end that’s causing the posts not to import, so I just want you to try it one more time before I go digging into the raw file itself. :)

Hello :) The posts are there! Thank you! I thought there were three files in the zip, but there were only two for this site from the export, would this be why the photos aren’t showing?

The two files should still include all of the images. Are the images missing from your Media Library? Or just from your posts?
