Only see the html option for posting a new post

i am creating a new post, but the usual box screen for inputting a new post, only shows in html, and i don’t see an option to convert it back to regular view
i’ve open several other posts already posted, as if to edit, and they show the same way
i’ve also signed out and back in with no change
i have a screen shot i can send

You can follow the steps in this guide on how to switch the Visual Editor: http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/
Otherwise try a different browser, for example Firefox or Google Chrome.

thanks so much for the reply
unfortunately, the visual / text editor options shown on your link, that i usually have available when writing a post, aren’t even available (don’t show)
also, i am using firefox and chrome
i can clearly show what i’m seeing via a screenshot
i’ve tried again this morning, bringing up a new post window, and still am unable to see, or have available, the visual / text button options
if you could help me with this, that would be great, i’m not able to post anything new at this time

Can you please try clearing out your browser cache?

have cleared cache (showed about half full) and set browser to clear cache when closed each time, restarted firefox, same issue
have uploaded screenshot from yesterday (same image today) to my media library
problem still persists
i appreciate your help, thank you much, hopefully we can figure it out ;-)

What kind of operating system are you using? and are you running any browser add-ons or extensions? if so, please disable theme to see if that helps.

i’m using a macbook, OS X 10.8.4, haven’t changed anything in a long time, so am perplexed why this suddenly came up
i’ll check your link on resetting the browser
should i disable my theme, or any add-ons and extensions on firefox? no new ones have been added in a long time – thanks!

unfortunately, resetting firefox, and losing much of tabs and other info, plus extensions i frequently use, has not solved the problem

And this also happens in the Google Chrome and Safari browser?
Here are some things we could try out to see if it’s a computer related issue or not:
Please try an alternate computer in the same location. If another computer works, then the issue is computer settings on the first one. Or try an alternate location that has a different Internet Service Provider. If it works, the issue is with your local network. -
safari initially showed the visual / text buttons, and now, a few minutes later, doesn’t
unfortunately, i don’t have access to another computer, and could try at a friend’s house on their computer later today
i would need to go to another location and try a differing provider, and can’t do that til later also
i have to go do chores and will return later, thanks for your help
ps – if i need to, can my site be reset or such, and maybe help that way? thanks again

will def try later, but, weirdly, the old firefox posting box has returned
maybe the resets took a bit to take hold? I sure don’t know ;-)
