Only Summary on home page

  I would like just the summary of the post with the post image, to appear on the home page, if there is a summary.

  You’re looking for what we call excerpts. Your theme is a bit older and doesn’t have that option, but all our of newer themes can be configured that way. Here are some you could try: https://wordpress.com/themes/?s=excerpt

  Note these will automatically show the first few lines of any given post, or you can create a custom excerpt for each post that needs one.

  As another alternative, if you’d like to keep using the theme you have, you can use the “read more” option to split content where you’d like. We have more details on splitting your content here.
