Only the title of my post is showing up in the Reader!

Help! I enabled the full article to be displayed in the Reader but only the title and images are showing. It has done this to all of my posts, and I can’t figure out why. Not even a summary of my post comes up, so I would really appreciate your help. Thanks!!

Do you see a complete post in your post revisions? If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

It’s possible that you have a post formats issue.You may have created an Aside rather than and Standard post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/post-formats/ If that’s the case you can edit the post and select the Standard post format and click “update”.

Hmm, no my posts are not in Aside mode. Even on Standard or Gallery, the post itself doesn’t show up in the reader. Only the title and images show. What else do you think it could be? Thank you to all of you for your help!

I’m sorry I simply don’t know but I previously tagged this thread for Staff and they will help you sort this as soon as they work their way forward to this thread.

If you click on your post’s title in the Reader, you’ll see the whole post appear there. However, the post isn’t showing an excerpt on the main Reader page because your post content is all marked as headers instead of paragraphs. In other words, the Reader tries to show an excerpt from the first paragraph in your post, but it doesn’t find anything because to the Reader the whole post looks like a header instead of a regular paragraph.
You can change that by opening your posts in the post editor. First, make sure that the second row of editor icons is being displayed in your editor. In the second row, on the left, you’ll see a styles dropdown menu.
Right now, all of your post content is marked as “Header 4.” You can select all of the text in your post, and then in the styles dropdown menu select “Paragraph.” When you’re done, be sure to click the Update button to save the changes to your post. That will make your post content appear like a regular paragraph, so the Reader will display an excerpt.
