I`am new to this. I have created a blog on wordpress. I didnt went through any installation. I only submitted to it through my e- mail and then succeded a “blog” where I have a dashboard.
All I want is to have a blog with a passwordprotection so only restricted friends can see it.

Do I have to set up a paypal domain server and stuff like that for this( The installation-guides redirects me to a cpanel, where you have to pay for their services). Wouldnt blogging be free?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Questions for self-hosted blogs have to be asked at the WordPress.org forum. Blogs here at WordPress.COM run under a different software. http://wordpress.org/support/

    Or is this you?

Please post a link to your blog whenever you ask a question here, starting with http://
You will get faster and more accurate answers when you do that!

If that is your blog, then you can easily make your blog private and available to only the readers you choose:
    http://support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

If that is your blog, then what you are reading about cpanel and so on likely refers to self hosted blogs using WordPress.ORG software. wp.ORG is not the same as wp.COM:

Ok, thanks. I think I have got a slighter idea of how this works now.

    1. “WordPress.com” and “wordpress.org” is`nt the same thing.
    2. In wordpress.com you can set up a blog without any complicated domains and installations.

But here is another question for the software that I to use, “wordpress.com.”
    (Yes, http://bushido65.wordpress.com/, is me)

    3. Cant I set up a regular passwordprotection for my blog, so that I hand out the password for anyone who I want to visit my blog.

Cause the option you referred to only allows me to approve allready members on wordpress.com to visit the blog, not peopole from other communites and so on. Or have I missunderstand that to?

Users would have to sign up for a WordPress.com account, but they would not need to have a blog.

By having an account associated with an email address, wordpress is able to keep track of who is, and who is not, allowed to access your private blog. If wordpress could not identify approved users, then anyone could look at your blog.

There is no charge to sign up for an account.
