whenever i log in : it says : oops this page can’t be found.
And I would like to add a photo in the about spot.

Hi there, I need very similar help but before I daftly deleted my home page I am pretty sure I had set it (no idea now how to find that option again) to be always the first page to be landed on. (I wanted the page to look like a website not a blog)
And now I am just one big oooops when I land. Arggghhh, help!

If you deleted the Hello World placeholder post and that caused the 404 (page not found) error message on your front page. Not to worry because as soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear.

You can do that.
Pages are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.

If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the categories pages that are autpmatically generated by the software into the custom menu.
