  Do you have to sign in just to follow a blog? I thought you could follow things without having a wordpress account.

  You do not need a WordPress.com account to follow a blog. Only if the blog is private:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/following/

  Hey there,

  I’ve talked to the staff and he has made some updates. At the very least, if you are still encountering an error, it should now specify what the issue is stemming from. Try the invite again and let me know if you continue to have problems. Thanks!
