Open a PDF document for download

  I inherited an ancient word press site. The pdf documents I upload and link do not open when I click on the Documents category, they take me to another page where I can click on a link to open the file. Other pdfs that were done by the previous person who maintained the site do open with a single click on the file in the Documents Category. I have attempted to mimic the set up of the file that opens with mine that do not. What am missing?

  Is “Documents Category” a page? If so, then can you provide here a link to that page?
