Open an Email Link in a New Window

  I want to my email address to open in a new window. I have used the code: (email visible only to moderators and staff) The target=”_blank” doesn’t work to create a new window. In the visual editor if I click on the create link icon there isn’t an option for mailto, however there is an option to open in a new window. What can I do?

  Hi. I think “New Window” only works for actual http addresses (in other words, websites). Here’s why.

  When it comes to “mailto”, different computers have different behaviours. Some people have their browser set up so that when they click on such a link, it redirects them to their email account (Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)

  However, some people use an email software (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) so clicking on the “mailto” link will not open a new window on the browser, but rather a new window of the email software.

  On a sidenote: you forgot to insert the code between backticks ( ` ) and to close your “a” tag. This has turned most of your post into a link.
