Open Blog/Posting for Social Experiment

  Hello, I am completely new to the world of blogging. I am trying to set up a social experiment, which would allow (moderated) public posting on a blog. Is this possible? Is there such a thing as an open blog? Would this be possible on wordpress.com?

  It is possible. It is not possible on WordPress.com unless you post a username and password for anyone to use; do NOT use your own, make up a new one and set it as an Author, not an admin. What you probably want is a wiki, but you might be able to do it at WordPress.org:
