Open ID as relates to commenting on other blogs
-
I follow a number of blogs that are hosted by other companies, such as blogger. For the past few weeks, I’ve been unable to use my WordPress open ID to post comments on these types of sites and I have no way of figuring out if it’s a WordPress open ID issue or a Blogger / Blogspot / other comment form issue.
Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how to fix it??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is both an OpenID issue AND a Blogger issue, and it’s a known issue for many years for those of us with custom domains.
I long ago gave up using OpenID and now only comment if they allow me to use Name/URL.

I’d had no probelms until 3 weeks ago – now my Openid and WordPress credentials are not recognized by Blogger or Blogspot. Been commenting on them previously with no problem. What changed?

I’m soory but my answer is I don’t know. This is a the pattern that drove me crazy. Sometimes Open ID works but more frequently than not it doesn’t. Comment while you can. :)

Well, I had figured out that I needed to be logged in to WP (with window open) to be commenting, but once I did that – and not having a customized site – I was a-ok for more than a year. When you search “Openid” on forums – you’ll see we have a rash of this recent issue.
Thanks for popping in on this Timethief. -
I discovered that some of the Blogger comment forms offer a “name/url” feature so if it’s there I comment with that, otherwise I can’t comment. It most often happens on Blogger. I did notice they went to a re-captcha so my guess is this is a Blogger problem.
