Open ID Failure (Contd)

I’d just like to confirm that, despite repeated attempts over several months and contrary to what the Moderator says, the Open ID feature STILL does not work. How very, very frustrating!

Certainly. I have my blog open. I go into other (blogspot.com) blogs and comment. I use the Open ID and a page appears telling me that I must ‘Sign In’. I then try and go ‘Page Back’ or sometimes, to be different, I ‘Refresh’. Whichever I use, I am returned to the ‘Comments’ page and my comment has been deleted. I would add that this has been going on since before I last communicated this, which itself was over a month ago.

This has been happening to me too, but with LiveJournal. It’s never been a problem for me before, but last night when I was attempting to comment on an LJ, the exact same thing happened to me. I haven’t tried commenting on blogspot though.

Gosh, it’s so frustrating. Especially after having written a fairly lengthy comment, simply to lose it all!

I was actually able to comment on a blogger blog about 20 minutes ago. LiveJournal still isn’t working though.

It’s not working properly for me, either, and hasn’t since a few weeks after I signed up. I just use “name/url” sign-in and avoid OpenID altogether.

I’ve just discovered that you can’t rely on that handy Firefox autofill, where you type the first letter of your OpenID name and it fills in the rest for you. When I do that, it tries to sign me in as http://r.wordpress.com and it fails. You have to actually type in the entire name.
