Open image in new tab in Classic editor

  I’ve just started using the Classic editor as I now have no choice. I cannot find how to open an image in a new tab. The edit icon only allows me to add a caption or rearrange the image. Where is the old “advanced options” which allowed me to click on “open in a new tab”?

  Hi James,

  To open an image in a new tab on the Classic Editor –
  Click on the image. Then click on the Insert/edit link on the top toolbar.
  Enter the URL and check Open link in a new window/tab.

  It worked – after a fashion. When I click on the image, the insert link at the top of the page disappears and I can only edit the image itself. I then linked the CAPTION on the image to open in a new tab and this opens the image in a new tab. Clumsier than the old system of image editing but it works.
