Open link in a new inactive window/tab
-
I am interested in showcasing my music on my blog and I want people to be able to browse my site freely while listening to my music. Under my blogs page “trumpet” there is a link to a recording and I have set the target to open in a new window, however, I find it inconvenient that the new window’s size is the same as my blog’s window and completely covers it. After poking around here it seems you can’t change the size of a new window, but is it possible to have my link come up in a new window without it coming in to the foreground? In other words, the music starts playing and my blog is still right in front of you.
Let me know! Sorry if I missed a discussion about this already.
Cheers!
David

A popup window would require javascript, and we are not allowed to use that in wp.com blogs.
Why don’t you use the WP audio player instead of a link?

I will probably end up using WP audio player. I was just trying to find a way to let people navigate to other pages of the blog without the music stopping.
Thanks for the help!

The only way to do that is by putting the player in your sidebar (using a text widget). You’ll need to limit its width to no more than 170.
