Open link in a new window feature not working March 2023

There used to be a pop up when you placed your cursor on a link, that allowed you to select a feature “open in a new window”, and that feature does not show on the pop up this week. If you look at my last two blog entries on the chart of the S&P 500, clearly it worked last week, and I don’t see the feature this week. Please advise. That feature is very useful to my readers who want to look at my chart in one window while they read my text in the original window, two windows side by side.

Hi, click the Toggle Link Setting icon (just under (to the left)) of the box where you insert the link to which post you want to open), and you’ll see the ‘Open in New tab’ button.
I’m unsure why WordPress has hidden it behind the Toggle Link Setting icon. It was better when visible.

Making us take an extra step to accomplish the same thing isn’t just not useful, it is downright bad ui thinking. It comes across as them changing things just to change things, which leads to distrust and eventually to anger and people giving up and going to other platforms. WP really needs to start thinking of all these little straws they keep laying on our backs.
