Open links in "_parent" mode with masked URLS

I have a WP site, users go to it using a masked URL

    So http://www.masked1.com
    forwards to
    http://www.mywpsite.com/maskedcontent/

Now it works great. But on the Wp site when user clicks on LOGIN it just takes us to a blank screen.

BUT when we go to the WP site using the direct URL the login works.

So its something to do with masked URL being used.

I think the solution is to make all links open using “_parent” setting and not “_self” as using masked URLS make use of frames and the LOGIN URL is somehow parsing to use the masked URL not the actual URL. COrrrect me if Im wrong.

So (apart from not using masked URLS) what is the solution? Can I somehow make all links in the META panel open using “_parent” flag?

    Hi there!

The sites that you provided links to aren’t hosted here at WordPress.com. Instead, they appear to be hosted elsewhere and running on the free software available at WordPress.org. (If you’re unsure about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org then our guide here gives a good overview.)

As your site is hosted elsewhere, the WordPress.com forums aren’t the best place for you to get help with your current issue. Instead, I recommend the community-driven forums over on WordPress.org:

    https://wordpress.org/support/

You could also consider contacting your host’s support team directly.

Hope that helps to point you in the right direction. Best of luck with getting your issue resolved.

    no they were just examples!!

My site is a wordpress website, Well im working on a client website
    http://clickfriends.mobi

if you visit it the Login button WILL work.

but then try to access via the masked domain:
    http://blackknightsatellitemovie.com

then click one of the buttons say NEWS, it will take you to the WP blog post. There click on LOGIN and you will see it doesnt work

Thank you for clarifying and sorry for not spotting that the links you first gave were examples. I had gathered from the error, though, that your issue wasn’t with a WordPress.com site.

I checked and can confirm the sites you linked to in your second reply are hosted outside of WordPress.com. They’re hosted elsewhere and running on the free software available at WordPress.org.

The difference between the two types of WordPress (WordPress.com and WordPress.org) is an understandable and common point of confusion. I really do recommend the following guide, which gives a good overview on the key differences:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You’re right that your two sites are WordPress sites, however, they’re not hosted with us and we’re not in the best position to help with questions on them.

Either your host or the WordPress.org support forums will be the best place for you to get help with your question.
