  hi
  how can i make it default to open links ( blogroll, banners ) in a new tab or page ?

  For links, when you create them, you can set it to open in a new tab/window (scroll down on the add links page. You can edit the existing links and make that change also. For images that are in posts or pages, you need to click on the image after inserting it, and then click on the image edit button (mountain icon) and then click the “advanced” tab and set it to open in a new window/tab.

  For images in text widgets in the sidebar, you have to add the “target_blank” attribute to the link section of the code similar to this.
