  The link you have is for a plugin but OpenID is already working on WordPress.com blogs. All you have to do is go to Dashboard > Options > OpenID and you can set it up very easily. Hope that helps.

  The original request is for wp.com to accept OpenIDs from elsewhere. It doesn’t currently do that, although it is an OpenID provider. I second the original request.
