openid not working after URL re-direction

    I had been able to use openid to comment on other blogs (specifically blogger and blogspot) up until I added URL re-direct from my wordpress.com hosted blog (no longer kept upto date) to my main blog which is self-hosted. I get an error saying “Your OpenID credentials could not be verified.”

    So far I have tried installing a plug-in on my self hosted blog to make it my openID provider which seems to work with some platforms but not the above mentioned.

    Ideas?
