Opening a link and not having the image show in your blog

A few months back when I linked an embedded image to display a larger image it would show that larger image in another window. Now, it shows that linked image in my blog window and that keeps it from showing the much larger image I wish to show. How do I link an image to let it show full size outside of my blogs size restrictions?

If you want the picture to open larger, choose Media File so it will link the image to its original, full-size version.
