Opening a site on an existing WordPress domain name
-
How do I open a site using the domain name once I’ve already purchased the domain name from WordPress with the URL automatically redirecting to my primary site’s page?
In short, I just purchased two domains (jeselsohncenter.com and jeselsohncenter-he.com) and I want to make each of these a site. I have the first one working (as jeselsohncenter.com), it seems, but for the latter I cannot seem to make a site that is the same as the domain address – and typing in the domain address just redirects to the former site. I need two separate sites.
Thanks!

Hi there,
You have registered both domains for the same site.
If you want to use one domain for a different site, you first have to create a second site in your account:
https://wordpress.com/start/site/
Don’t type in your domain on the Pick an address step – that won’t work as you’ve already registered the domain for an existing site. Instead, search for a key word only, and select the free *.wordpress.com or .blog subdomain that’s presented to you.
Once you’ve created the new free site, you’ll be able to move the domain to it from the Domains section in the dashboard:

Ah, I see. So I created a site called jc100745284353.wordpress.com to transfer my jeselsohncenter-he.com domain to, but in the transfer set-up that you linked me to above, the site did not appear on the list (nor was any site offered). This is what it says:
Please choose a site with a paid plan you’re an administrator on to transfer jeselsohncenter-he.com to:
No sites foundNow, since it says that I need a paid plan, should I go ahead and buy a plan for the jc100745284353.wordpress.com site now? Because when I do I want to change it to jeselsohncenter-he.com just like the domain I want to attach it to – I’m just not sure which order to do this all in without mucking everything up…
Thanks!
