Opening pdf files in the browser

When I put a link to a pdf file in the media library the file gets downloaded. Is there any way I can make the file open within my wordpress.com site (same or new tab/window)?

PDFs can be embedded in a post if you upload them to Google Docs, Scribd or Issuu.More information on:
