Opening post

Hi,
I’ve just started my blog and bookmarked it and sent my friends a link but they say they can’t open it. I’ve tried it myself and instead of my first post I’m getting “Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.”

I don’t see any posts on that blog, just the notice that you get when you delete the placeholder post. Does your post show on the Dashboard of your blog?
How did you get to the New Post page? Ie did you use the New Post button on the admin bar, go to Dashboard->posts->new post or use an app or how?
What browser and version are you using?
Till the issue is solved I’m recommending people subscribe to their own blogs via email, as the posts seem to go out on email before vanishing. Then you can copy-paste it back in the blog.

It’s a brand new blog so this is my very first post. I just followed the step by step instructions and it seemed to appear at first. It appears when I click on my own bookmark. I’m on Safari 10.7.5.

Okay, no sweat. Should I do it using the ‘New Post’ button at the top right of the page?

NO NEVER EVER USE THAT.
The autosave doesn’t work with that, and people lose all their long posts, it’s horrible. Always go to the dashboard posts page and then new Post.

I’m not entirely sure to be honest. I think it was my own stupidity as I’m pretty technophobic.
I failed to notice the tab at the top distinguishing between video and text and I posted it under ‘video’ which may have been one problem. Added to that I think I clicked on the ‘about’ page on the blog and sent that link to my friends so they got the blog heading and sub heading but not the actual post.
Just part of the learning curve I guess.
