  Hi All,

  What I want to create is a home page with more of a website feel. I want to talk about my product (an overview) on the home page and have blog posts and widgets in place similar to the ones currently there. I am undecided how I should create this ‘look’ and would like your opinions on a new theme or adapting my current theme to suit. I have no css skills but I guess could learn a little if need be.

  Hi there,

  Thanks for the quick reply. At this point in time I am not prepared to purchase the business package as I might be developing further in the future. One thing I had considered doing is changing the home page as a static page and having the blog on its own pagein the menu. I am not sure how that would help or hinder visitor numbers. Ideally I guess I want to create a home page with static text and also some blog posts and widgets.

  It will hinder numbers but increase the resemblance to a static corporate website. You don’t need any upgrades for that. Just use a theme with a tabbed header.

  That is what worried me and made me think that static text and blog posts on the home page would be a happy medium so to speak. What if I used a theme for example one being the ‘sight’ theme and used the sliding featured post option up top to get some lines of text across as well as photos? Perhaps I am on the wrong track.
